The current rewards system is unmotivating due to the fluctuating point values. When an Xbox console was around 5,000-7,500 points, it was exciting to participate, but as prices increased, it became less appealing.
The point system lacks meaningful engagement. Points could be earned through microtasks that improve the app or by adding minigames. The current methods, beyond spinning the wheel, don't make sense from a game design perspective. As an employee, it feels redundant to press extra buttons for points unrelated to my actual work.
A more engaging mechanic would be allowing employees to manually enter their work times within 15-30 minutes after their shift, rewarding accuracy and fostering good habits. This would be useful for employers who lack automated systems like QR codes and could be more motivating for employees.
Currently, the leaderboard is pointless because employees have little control over how to improve their scores. If manual time entry or similar tasks were introduced, the leaderboard would become more relevant, rewarding consistent and timely actions.
There is a risk of system abuse, as with any gamified system, which would require careful testing.
However, the current setup doesn't seem to satisfy most users and doesn't align well with the HeyBegin brand. The concept of earning rewards through a time-scheduling system is interesting, but it needs better execution to be truly engaging for employees.

We strive to offer a wide range of gifts for redemption, but please note that default rewards have limited stock. To stay updated on restocks, please check the app regularly. Alternatively, you can ask your manager about opting in for Premium Rewards, which provide access to even more rewards and gifts. During recent Community Days, users have redeemed over 80+ rewards. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee gifts for everyone at all times. The rewards store operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
